Thinking about visiting Bargara for a relaxing holiday or that lifestyle change? If so, then this is your gateway to the Coral Coast’s most popular seaside township.
Bargara offers a wide range of accommodation including caravan parks, cabins, motels, resorts and luxury apartments. In the heart of Bargara is the foreshore CBD with an abundance of a la carte restaurants, relaxing cafes, the ever-popular takeaways or the meals from the deck of the local hotel or the nearby tavern. Shady foreshore parks, BBQ areas, Turtle Playground and calming walkways fringe the township and typify the relaxed lifestyle enjoyed by locals and visitors alike
Bargara’s coastline boasts some of Australia’s most pristine shoreline coral reefs thanks to the unique basalt headlands that are the remnants from the eruption of the nearby Hummock volcanic centuries ago. Magnificent white sandy beaches such as Kelly’s Beach nestle amongst the headlands and the nearby beaches of Mon Repos, Moore Park and Coonarr seem to stretch forever along the 92 kilometres of the Coral Coast.
The Turtle Season lasts from November through to March and Bargara is ideally located within minutes of the famous Mon Repos Turtle Rookery. These magnificent mariners return to lay their eggs in the tropical sand where they themselves were hatched decades before. The gender of the hatchlings is determined by the temperature of the sand with the warm sub-tropical climate producing mostly females.
